A beautiful continuation of heritage and history

For many, a coat of arms, or rather a family crest, means family, history and belonging .

Signet rings, cufflinks, pendants and brooches are often adorned, but it is up to you how and where you want to carry the symbol.

I hand engrave coats of arms using deep engraving or flat engraving.

Deep engraving is the traditional method by which coats of arms and family crests were engraved into signet rings and stamps.

In the past, they were used to sign documents as seals in impressions of wax.

With deep engraving, the family coat of arms will be engraved in mirror image in order to give a correct impression in wax.

The deep engraving process is long and demanding, which is why it costs considerably more than flat engraving.

If you first invest in a gold signet ring and choose deep engraving, you will get a durable engraving with a depth that creates a beautiful three-dimensional wax impression.

Flat engraving means that the coat of arms is engraved according to the correct description or image.

This type of engraving is suitable for all jewelry and objects, and can result in a very beautiful and detailed engraving.

Unlike deep engraving, flat engraving is for decoration only. Therefore, flat engraving should never be mirrored.

Våpenskjold har røtter tilbake til korstogstiden og har i Norge vært brukt av både adel, embetsmenn, militære, handelsfolk, håndverkere og bønder. Det er altså ikke forbeholdt kongelige.

Family coats of arms date back to the Crusades to identify different families, and have become very popular in recent times. In Norway, coats of arms have been used by non-noble officials, military personnel, merchants, craftsmen and farmers. So it's not just for royalty!

If your family has a family coat of arms, but you are having difficulty finding it, you can send me an email or contact the Norwegian Heraldic Society so that we can help you.

If you do not have a family coat of arms, it is possible to have one created. The Norwegian Heraldic Association will help you create and register the symbol in Norway's archives.
